Grand Design has announced that its new composite roof that debuted last fall on its Solitude, Influence and Foundation trailers, will now be standard on its Momentum fifth-wheels and travel trailers.

What Makes this Composite Roof Different?

The solid structure is one-piece, rather than relying on multiple decking panels sealed together, and avoids one of the biggest problems with membrane roofs: nicks and tears from tree branches. It also uses gaskets to stop water intrusion around air conditioners and vents instead of self-leveling sealant.

Is This Available on Other Brands?

The system is manufactured by Elkhart-based composite manufacturer TekModo, and is currently exclusive to Grand Design, though, as this industry usually works, that’s probably only for a limited time, and perhaps eventually we’ll be seeing the system on other brands in the near future.
