Results for the RV Industry Associationโs March 2026 survey of manufacturers found that total RV shipments ended the month down 13.9% over last March. Shipments for the year are down 12.1%,
Just How Bad are the Numbers?
With numbers like that, this year is shaping up to be the worst year for RV production since 2012. For context, the worst post-pandemic boom year was 2023, and both 2024 and 2025 rose slightly, but this spring has seen a steep dive in both manufacturing and on-the-ground sales.ย
Are Numbers Down Across All Types of RVs?
The entire drop in shipments, however, was in Towable RVs down over 16%. Motorhomes finished the month up 9.3%. Which is interesting because our most recent sales report showed that February motorhome sales were far lower than production.
Regardless, the industry is bracing for a pretty terrible year for RV sales. The traditionally busiest part of the selling season has only just begun, and time will tell whether predictions ring true or the industry bounces back from one of the roughest starts in over a decade.
