Oil prices closed Monday at their highest levels since July 2022, raising the possibility that gas and diesel prices could keep climbing in the days ahead. West Texas Intermediate closed at $102.88 per barrel, while Brent crude finished at $112.76, according to the figures provided.
That marks a roughly 10 to 15 percent jump in oil prices over the past week. Even though prices at the pump have not moved as sharply, higher crude costs usually take time to work their way through the fuel supply chain.
According to AAA’s national fuel price tracker, the national average for regular gasoline is now $3.99 per gallon, up 4 cents from a week ago, while diesel has reached $5.41 per gallon, up 13 cents over the same period. AAA’s current national averages align closely with the prices cited here as of March 30, 2026.
For RV travelers, diesel remains the bigger pressure point, especially for motorhome owners and truck-and-trailer drivers covering long distances. If oil stays elevated, fuel prices may not stay flat for long.
