Sailun recalls have been issued for 84,351 Sailun tires. The recall is for tires under the Sailun, RoadX, Blacklion, Blackhawk, and Ironhead brands. Sizes ST235/80R16 and ST235/85R16 with DOT codes 2020 through 4120, meaning they were manufactured between the 20th and the 41st week of 20.
Sailun says belt separation could occur due to a manufacturing issue, which of course, can lead to vehicle control loss and increased crash risk.
Fully steel-encased Sailun tires have been a popular replacement and upgrade for fifth-wheel RV owners of late. But over the course of the past several months, we’ve seen many social media posts about blowouts and tread separation.
Sailun will replace the tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in December 2021. Owners should contact Sailun customer service at 1-844-281-9696.
