The RV Industry Association’s September survey of manufacturers found RV shipments up 2.2% over September 2018, with 31,639 wholesale shipments. That’s the first increase in the key industry metric since May of 2018. Total shipments are still down 18.2% over last year, at 309,938 units (378,718 at this point in 2018).
While overall shipments of all RVs are finally on the rise, motorhomes are down 4.7% over September of last year.
The RV industry has been facing a slump since record highs in 2016 and 2017. This slight turnaround could be an indicator that it’s no time to panic. 2019 will still be in the top 5 years on record for RV sales.
