In wider Elkhart, Indiana news, the RV industry shipped 24,903 units in February, a decrease of 53.7% over February of ‘22, which was a record month.
Year to date, RV shipments are down 57.7%. While those numbers are dramatic, most of it is due to January shut-downs by manufacturers. Production has ramped back up, but many are anticipating it will be a tepid year as the industry finally begins to show signs of leveling out. Since 2020, the RV industry has seen a record number of shipments as more and more people turned to RVing during the pandemic.
While shipment numbers may be declining, camping remains a big business industry with both KOA and Jellystone reporting recording breaking years in 2022.
