Authorities in Benton County, Arkansas, are investigating what they say was an arson attack that destroyed multiple RVs and motorhomes at Scotty’s RV near Beaver Lake.

The fire happened April 14 at the consignment lot near the intersection of Beaver Shores Road and Highway 12. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office, multiple RVs and motorhomes were vandalized and then set on fire.

This is the second RV consignment incident we’ve reported on in the last two weeks.

Scotty’s RV owner Scott McCannon called the act “inconceivable” and said the damage was “truly devastating.” A reward is now being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Investigation is Underway but No Arrests Have Been Made

Investigators believe the crime was bold enough that someone may have seen suspicious activity near the property. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Madeline Green at 479-271-1008 ext. 3627 or by email at madeline.green@bentoncountyar.gov.

The incident is also a reminder for RV owners to review their insurance coverage before leaving a unit in storage or on consignment. It is also worth asking about security measures such as cameras, lighting, and gated access.
