Camping World to Sell Thomasville RV Furniture Exclusively

Camping World has announced plans to launch “Thomasville Recreation Furniture,” an RV and camping furniture line, through a licensing deal with Authentic Brands Group, which manages the Thomasville brand.

“We are excited to launch the exclusive Thomasville Recreation brand with a wide variety of RV and camping furniture,” said Marcus Lemonis, CEO and Chairman of Camping World. “This brand launch along with our acquisition of furniture manufacturer, Allure, in the fall of 2020 accelerates our vertical integration within the space and strengthens our sales and margin growth opportunities.”

The Thomasville Recreation RV and camping furniture collections will feature an assortment of sofas, chairs, and tables, exclusively at Camping World and Gander RV & Outdoors retail locations nationwide and via e-commerce in late 2021.

Founded in its namesake Thomasville, North Carolina, the brand has been known for quality furniture for over 100 years, though furniture production ended in Thomasville back in 2014. The brand is now licensed through Authentic Brands Group to several manufacturers, including cabinetry companies that supply Home Depot.

It’s not clear whether the Thomasville Recreation line will be manufactured directly by Camping World, by third-party suppliers, or both.

The fact that furniture names are often licensed is one of the reasons we made “fancy furniture names” one of our top things not to worry about when buying an RV.

Still, the ability to purchase RV furniture directly from a store will be of some benefit to RVers who are dealing with furniture that isn’t in great condition, or those who plan to renovate an RV. Camping World has been taking note of the RV renovation craze, and has focused dealership attentions on used RVs as the current manufacturer supply chain woes keep new units from rolling in. Having furniture manufacturing in their portfolio will also allow Camping World to quickly freshen up used units for sale on their lots.
