RV product retailers Camping World and Gander RV announced Thursday evening several changes in operations to help customers retain access to RV necessities while limiting potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus.
An email to customers from Camping World Holdings CEO Marcus Lemonis stated that effective immediately, Camping World and Gander stores will be reducing hours in order to provide employees ample time to restock shelves, clean and sanitize. All stores will be open 9 am – 5 pm local time Monday – Saturday and closed on Sundays. The first hour of operation each day will be reserved for senior customers and at-risk individuals to shop.
The company will also begin offering free contactless curbside pickup at both chains, allowing customers to drive up and pick up their online orders without going into the store. To place an order, visit CampingWorld.com/curbside or GanderOutdoors.com/curbside.
Within the stores, six-foot distances have been marked to keep customers and employees separated. Hand sanitizer and wipes are readily accessible and mployees have been issued masks and gloves.
RV dealerships like Camping World and Gander RV offer essential products and services like, repairs, parts, water filters, and propane for the estimated 1 to 2 million people who live full-time in their RVs, along with countless “snowbirds” who had traveled south for the winter before the pandemic.
“We understand the impact that this may have on you and want you to know how much we appreciate your flexibility and understanding,” Lemonis said. “There is no doubt that we are in uncharted territory, but I am certain, we will get through this together.”
