Boondockers Welcome, the popular RV membership organziation, announced today they’ve sold the nine-year-old company to Harvest Hosts.
Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome have always solved the same problem for RVers, easy affordable overnight parking, but from different angles. Harvest Hosts sets RVers up with businesses like farms, wineries, museums, and golf courses, while Boondockers Welcome connects RVers with other members who let people park in their driveways and yards. Members who let their land be used get free membership after meeting certain criteria and are offered insurance to cover any mishaps. In short, Boondockers Welcome is a community, where Harvest Hosts is a service.
In an email to members, Boondockers Welcome founders assured the community that the company will be “in good hands” praising Harvest Hosts CEO Joel Holland for the way he “has grown the Harvest Hosts network by leaps and bounds. We know that he and his very capable team will help to continue to grow Boondockers Welcome as a community made by RVers, for RVers.”
The email goes on to inform current members that their subscriptions won’t increase during the transition, and all locked-in pricing will continue to be honored.
“We are very happy to welcome Boondockers Welcome to the Harvest Hosts family,” Harvest Hosts CEO Joel Holland told RV Miles. “For the past several years, it has been our mission to give travelers the chance to create great memories and experiences in their RVs. Bringing Boondockers Welcome into the fold was a natural step in serving our loving RV community. Harvest Hosts and Boondockers Welcome members can expect the same great experiences they are used to with more excitement to come and additional places to explore and memories to make.””
The company also promised more future details, hinting at new features to come.
While Marriane Edwards will be retiring, Anna Maste will be staying on during the transition, and Carrie Price has joined the Harvest Hosts company. The three close out the email saying “This journey has been life-changing for us. We want to thank each and every one of you for being such strong supporters of not just the Boondockers Welcome community, but of us personally. You have been the friends who have made the journey so worthwhile.”
