Honda is recalling 340,000 portable generators, including 200,000 that were recalled last year for a separate issue.
The model EB2200i and EU2200i generators’ inverter assembly can short circuit with the presence of salt water. This causes the unit to smoke or catch fire, posing fire and burn hazards to consumers. Honda has received 13 reports of short-circuiting, including 10 reports of fire.
The recalled units were sold with a red or Camo cover, and are limited to a range of serial numbers sold between February 2018 through January 2020. The serial number is located on a lower corner of one of the side panels of the generator.
Model Name | Serial Number Range |
