National Park Service personnel recovered a body Saturday, May 9, below the rim near Verkamp’s Visitor Center on the South Rim of Grand Canyon National Park, according to a recent press release. The individual was later identified as Sandarsh Krishna, 26, who had been reported missing on April 28, 2026.

The body was transported to the rim and transferred to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office, which confirmed Krishna’s identity.

Krishna’s disappearance has been the subject of a public search effort in recent weeks. We shared that update in our last roundup, when authorities were still seeking information connected to his disappearance.

The incident remains under investigation by the National Park Service and the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials said no additional information is available at this time.
