The 2027 Ford Super Duty lineup is getting a makeover. Ford is dropping two current powertrain choices and making its bigger gas and diesel engines standard.

According to Ford Authority, the 2027 Super Duty will no longer offer the 6.8-liter gas V8 or the standard-output 6.7-liter Power Stroke diesel. Instead, the 7.3-liter gas V8 becomes the standard gas engine, while the high-output 6.7-liter Power Stroke becomes the only diesel option.

More Power, Fewer Choices

The 6.8-liter V8 was introduced with the redesigned 2023 Super Duty as the standard gas engine. For 2027, Ford is moving back to the 7.3-liter V8 as the base gas option.

The diesel lineup is also being trimmed. The standard-output 6.7-liter Power Stroke, rated at 475 horsepower and 1,050 pound-feet of torque, is being phased out. The high-output version, rated at 500 horsepower and 1,200 pound-feet of torque, will now be the only diesel choice.

Ford is also making a few updates to the Tremor Off-Road Package. For 2027, Tremor will be available for the first time on Crew Cab long-bed pickups, along with a 48-gallon fuel tank.

Pricing for the 2027 lineup has not yet been released.
