Brooks Smothers was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, where the crisp Cascade Mountain air, the saltwater of the Salish Sea and a steady stream of black coffee shaped his roots. A natural storyteller with a restless spirit, Brooks spent his mid-20s through his thirties wandering far from home, crossing oceans and crisscrossing the U.S. seven times, eventually setting foot in all 50 states. Along the way, the Road became both compass and classroom, teaching him not just where to go, but how to see.
Now back in the West he loves, Brooks is the host of RV Out West, a podcast that blends his passion for travel with the rugged beauty of his home region; highlighting stories, destinations, and practical tips for fellow RVers. As the new host of the See America podcast, he’s expanding his reach beyond the mossy forests of the Northwest, curating stories from coast to coast about quirky roadside attractions, hidden gems, and the wonderfully wild corners of the country that, together, stitch the patchwork of Americana. Brooks is a seeker of life’s curiosities, and his voice invites listeners to wander with intention and always with wonder.
