Wholesale shipments of RVs spiked 25.3% year-over-year in the first month of 2018, according to the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association.
Towable RVs rose 26.6%, but the sub-category of folding camping trailers (pop-ups) saw a 5.9% drop. Motorhomes saw an 18.1% increase overall, with class B (van-style) dropping 7.4%. That number is a surprise, considering the difficulty customers report in finding new class B models.
Overall, RV shipments rose to 42,441 over 33,859 in January 2017.
