The discontinued Embark line of class C motorhomes has been revamped into a line of luxury class A diesel pushers, Jayco’s first in the category. Jayco and Spartan Motors unveiled the new Embark coach at the Florida RV SuperShow in Tampa, built on the all-new Spartan K1 chassis with Cummins 360 H.P. engine.
“We are thrilled to add the Jayco Embark luxury coach to our RV lineup and reach a new audience in the Class A market segment with this smaller, premium motorhome,” said Brion Brady, General Manager of Jayco Motorhomes. “Partnering with Spartan Motors allowed us to offer our customers a quality coach built on the premier foundation, and the superior ride, service, and support that our customers expect from our RVs.”
The Embark features three premium exterior paint schemes, a choice of two interior décors, and three floorplans. The 37′ MB floorplan offers a spacious bedroom, sofa, and kitchen in a one-bath configuration. The B2 layout jumps to 39′, adding a rear bathroom and second sofa while reducing the bedroom and galley size, and the 39′ bunkhouse layout adds a concealed hallway double bunk. All three layouts offer a walk-around king bed and washer/dryer hookups.
The gally offers a residential refrigerator with ice maker and water dispenser, induction cooktop, 1.5 cu. ft. convection microwave oven, solid-surface countertops, and stainless steel sink.
A Versatouch Lyra command center and smartphone app handles system operations, and entertainment includes a 50-inch LED HDTV with a sound bar in the living room, a 32-inch LED HDTV in the bedroom, and an exterior 39-inch LED HDTV.
Jayco says the Embark is designed to meet demand for a premium, accessible package for younger RV buyers, as well as customers looking to drive a smaller coach while remaining on a premium motorhome chassis. The K1 chassis features an independent front suspension with Bilstein shocks, which Spartan says will provide the 37-foot coach with best-in-class ride and handling, along with ease of serviceability via a side-mounted service center. 10,000 lb. towing capacity will handle any towed vehicle, and a raised rail design adds frame strength and basement storage.
“The K1 360 chassis embodies Spartan’s mission to provide coach builders with the premium foundation, no matter the size of the house being built on top of it,” said Steve Guillaume, President of Spartan Specialty Vehicles. “Our class-leading ride and handling will now be available to more owners, backed by Spartan’s superior service and support, no matter where the road takes them.”
Jayco is offering a 2-year warranty and roadside protection plan with the Embark, and the K1’s frame is guaranteed for 20 years by Spartan.
