Fiat Chrysler has announced a recall of nearly 1.8 million RAM pickups that may be able to shift into gear without depressing the brake under “high-temperature conditions.” Related accidents and at least 7 injuries have been reported.
The recall includes certain RAM trucks with shifters mounted on the steering column made between 2009 and 2017. Other types of shifters are not affected. Owners can check to see whether their vehicle is affected by entering the truck’s VIN number here, and schedule an appointment with a dealer for free repair.
