It’s officially outdoor eating weather – and food safety is on our mind. We’ve got tips for avoiding foodborne illnesses. Chrissy Teigen and John Legend plan on taking an epic RV trip – will we see them on the road? A new app will help you identify the mountain peaks and hilltops around you using augmented reality. And the Gulf Shores of Alabama know how to treat tourists right – we recap our whirlwind weekend with the sun, the beach and the dolphins.

We kicked off the show this week with an app recommendation — it’s called PeakFinder AR, and it uses your phone’s camera to created augmented reality images showing you the names of mountains and hills nearby. More info here.

The meat of this episode was our recap of our time in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, Alabama. We stayed at the fabulous Gulf State Park, which boasts 496 large and level sites, a great pool, nature center, restaurants, hiking and bike trails and more.

Our favorite part of Gulf State Park was the Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail, which you can explore on foot or by bike. We had a great experience with our rentals from Beach Bike Rentals.

Leaving the park, we rented jet skis from Flora-Bama Marina & Watersports for a wild time cruising the bay.

We had dinner (twice!) at The Gulf — an amazing outdoor dining experience. We also had great al fresco food at Tacky Jack’s and Lulu’s.

The highlight of our trip was our two boat cruises with Cetacean Dolphin and Sailing Cruises which set off from a cool entertainment complex called The Wharf.

Here’s the video from Mashable about the underground Brooklyn RV radio station, and here’s our article about food safety outdoors.
