How RV Miles Got Rolling

RV Miles is hosted by Jason and Abby Epperson, a couple who set out to explore North America by RV and ended up building a community of travelers along the way. Through our podcast, videos, and news coverage, we share stories from the road, practical RV advice, and the latest developments shaping the RV and outdoor travel world.

Our Story

RV Miles began in 2016 when Jason and Abby, along with their three boys, set out to explore North America together. What started as a family adventure in a converted school bus soon grew into something more as they began sharing their experiences from the road and love of the RV lifestyle through the RV Miles podcast.

Over time, their journey evolved through several RVs — from the school bus to a travel trailer, then a fifth wheel. As their travels continued, Jason and Abby shared campground experiences, practical RV advice, and their real-life ups and downs as a traveling full-time family.

In 2018, Jason and Abby branched out and launched America’s National Parks Podcast, a storytelling podcast centered on the 420+ sites managed by the National Park Service. This highly celebrated and popular podcast continues today, has been rebranded as PARKography, and now includes a YouTube channel.

In 2020, RV Miles expanded to include weekly coverage of RV and camping news, helping travelers stay informed about the RV industry, national parks, campgrounds, and outdoor recreation.

Then in 2023, the family embarked on one of their most ambitious adventures yet, traveling from Baja, Mexico, all the way to Alaska in an IBEX 20BHS over the course of six months.

Years of full-time RV experience eventually led to a collaboration with Sabre RV, where Jason and Abby helped design the Sabre 37RVMiles — a 43′ fifth wheel created with the needs of modern RV travelers in mind.

After seven years of full-time RV living, the Epperson family came off the road in 2024 and now call Rock Island, Illinois, home, where they produce their shows from The Mile Zero Studio.

Meet Jason and Abby

Jason Epperson

Co-Founder & Creative Director, Writer, Editor, and more.

Jason Epperson started out working in Chicago theater until he decided to sell it all, and along with his wife and three kids convert a school bus and hit the road full-time. He is an RV, camping, and outdoor travel journalist who shares news, insights, and stories from the road on the RV Miles YouTube channel. He also co-hosts the RV Miles Podcast with his wife, Abby, where together they’ve produced more than 400 episodes about life on the road.

Abby Epperson

Co-Founder & all things marketing, advertising, and more.

Abby has a degree in Musical Theater and spent 15 years working as an actor in Chicago. If you’d told her back then that she’d eventually sell most of what she owned, hit the road in an RV with her husband and three boys for seven years, start a podcast, build a business around RV travel and National Parks, and wind up producing YouTube videos from Rock Island, Illinois… she probably would have laughed. And yet, here we are.

Learning and Laughing with Jason and Abby is a highlight of my week!
